"タグ"の呼び方問題

限定チーキーやパンキンに欠かせないのが、プラスチックケースやビニール袋に入ったものや、2017年の途中からは小冊子型になった"タグ"。日本ではタグと呼ばれることが多いが、イギリスのeBayでは、タグ以外にlabelやcertificateと呼ばれている。

数年前に、この"タグ"のことでメリーソートに問い合わせたことがあり、タグでも十分話は通じたのだが、メリーソートでは"swing ticket"と呼んでいると教えてもらった。

先日、"タグ"箱（タグは全て本体から切り離し別保管）に入っているハロッズのタグを初めてしっかりと見て、「オオッ！」となった。

 

 

タグと書いてはみたが、これをタグと呼んでいいのかはかなり疑問。小さいリーフレットで、裏側には値段と省略されたチーキーの名前が入ったステッカーが貼られている。限定番号は書かれていない。別のハロッズチーキーのこれと同じリーフレットの裏には、値段と名前が入ったステッカーが貼られていなかった。ハロッズったら結構適当。

一番最後に"swing ticket"が登場してた。このリーフレット、もう20年以上も持っているのに、今回初めて読んで気づいた。swing ticketと明記されているものを、他では見たことがないので貴重かも。
